About the Author

April Wyatt Scott is the youngest of 6 siblings. She grew up on a farm, where she was always surrounded by animals and nature, appreciating its beauty with wide open spaces and lots of fresh air. She spent most of her childhood outdoors doing things most kids her age never got to do. She worked hard doing morning and evening chores.

She liked to soak in the sun, get a tan, and plant flowers and herbs. She has several large vegetable and flower beds, which she tries to keep full and pretty all year. The colorful blooms help April feel positive and raises her spirits.

She’s a wife, mother, and a friend. Even at 40, she’s still friends with the same people she knew from elementary school. Her grandchildren love the scents of her plants and think she’s cool because she grows pizzas and pickles. She’s fond of dogs and loves larger dog breeds.

She’s caring, wise, and honest in all her relationships, always wanting the best for the people she loves. April has written this book, with a pure heart, expressing love for her family, friends, and loved ones, including personal details from her life story to inspire others.

About the Book

Re-Learning to Live with Brain Cancer is a very moving story based on the real-life events of a woman whose life trajectory changes, but she’s got the heart of a racehorse.

April writes a very transparent novel that discusses the hardships of cancer, from fear of death, disfigurement, pain, disability, dependency, and abandonment, to altered relationships. The storyline reflects her willpower and the optimism in her life philosophy: good things happen to those who believe.

And she continues to believe; through her experiences, to never give up.
